The WINNERS of the Mike Penland Race Fan competition are:
First Place: John Bascovsky
John has a won a day of riding with Mike at Durhamtown.
John sent in the following entry:
"hi my name is john bascovsky and i am a fan of mike because he is a
just a great man and after reading an artical in dirt wheels magazine
a few years ago he inspired me to get back into racing at the age of
42 and ever since i started racing again it has helped me find my
faith in God again ,when i was younger i used to race dirtbikes on the
local mx series but was lead down the wrong path in life and quit
riding and living the life that i loved, many years later i cleaned my
life up and bought my first atv but it was a utillity quad and was not
aware that you could race them anywere and even if you could i thought
i was too old to get back into racing and that it was a young persons
sport untill i read that artical, it was like God wanted me to learn
more about the GNCC style of racing and about mike, after reading it
there was no doubt in my mind and i was back into racing and going to
church more n praying just like i used to when i was younger and my
life was great ,i raced a couple years in the local xc series and had
great success at it and in 2011 decided it was time to race the
national series with my friends that i race with localy, then while in
florida i was walking around on race day while the youth kids were
racing and i seen a sign for team faith and that they had chaple
services every saturday morning before i raced and i stood there and
attended it and havent missed one yet, and also that was the first
time i met mike in person for the first time and it was great he took
the time to talk some to me and to others before we had to get ready
to line up to race and when i went to line up i noticed that his class
lines up next to mine, its a real privlige to be racing on the same
track at the same time with the man who inspired me to get back into
racing at my age and to see mike pass me out there is just amazing
that the talent he has to manuver that can-am at the speeds that he
dose, mike is always there talking to fans and helping other racers
and is just a great man and ambassitor to the sport of off-road
racing. there might be bigger fans of mike out there and thats ok,
mike has inspired me to get back into racing and that helped find my
way back to God again and theres no better feeling than that, life is
great for me now and i owe all that to mike and that artical that i
read about him in the july 2001 issue of dirt wheels magazine, well
ill see yall at the next race and God bless....

Second Place: Kenny Vincent
Kenny has won a signed Mike Penland jersey.
Kenny sent in the following entry:
"I've followed you from the days of racing Kawi's from desert racing to GNCC. The Prairie with Penland dual exhaust was awesome and down right mean sounding! Up till today, I was at the GNCC race in Somerset this past weekend headed for the woods to watch Eric Hoyland run, while passing the pits you were taking down your EZ up I passed and said hello you stopped what you were doing to talk an say hi ,not many people will do that! To ride a day with you would not only be awesome it would be a memory of a lifetime to share."
Third Place: JoAnn Bradley
Joann has won an autographed, Mike Penland signature straw hat.
Joann sent in the following:
" Mike Penland is a great man. I am thankful that I have been able to meet him and was able to spend some time with him. I am his biggest fan because he has helped my daddy, Glen Veale, to live out and experience his life-long dream of racing. Mike has been a constant encourager and supporter of my dad. It means the world to me that my dad has a strong Christian man as an influence and friend in the crazy world of racing. I thoroughly enjoyed the small amount of time I got to spend with Mike and would love to see him again soon. I love you Mr. Mike!"
Fourth Place: Krystal Wilson
Krystal has won a signed poster and MPR stickers.
Krystal sent in the following:
"I met you when I worked for Marcums Motorsports in Palatka when you and Hoyt ( whom is greatly missed) would come in for the first GNCC Race. From the first time we met y'all, everytime we have been to the races you've been a great person to me and my husband Reggie. We didn't make it to the first race this year because we had our 2nd son. We love watching you race. It would be an honor to ride in Georgia with you. God Bless you and your family. Thanks for the opportunity, Krystal Wilson"
