RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS IN HIS MEMORY
July 23rd will be the 2 year anniversary of Hoyt entering his heavenly home...All of you that knew him well know that he had a heart of gold and would give someone the shirt off his back without a second thought...So...We are asking that on, or before, July 23 you do two random acts of kindness in his memory...We certainly don't want anyone to be prideful, but if you would like to share on this page...We would love to hear about your random acts of kindness in his memory ♥ (If you would like to read more, please visit IN CELEBRATION OF LIFE: HOYT PENLAND on Facebook.)

Hoyt with his beloved pal...Renegade
Hoyt was a true shining star whose light burnt out far too soon. Hoyt loved sharing Christ with others especially through his engaging stories. He was passionate about following in his father's footsteps as an ATV racer. Hoyt's racing provided him with the outlet of fulfillment and pride he so cherished. Through one of these adventures, in Baja, Hoyt severely injured his leg. The trials of his injuries, surgeries and recovery took him through many peaks and valleys. He is now at peace in the arms of God.

As Mike Penland's son, Hoyt Penland was around ATV racing just about his entire life. He joined his father on the GNCC series where he rode a Renegade 800 in the competitive U2 class prior to his catastrophic injury in the Baja 1000 in November 2007.

Hoyt was so proud to be a Can-Am factory rider and to be following in his father's footsteps!!!
Cross
This cross sits on Black Rock Mountain. It is relatively close to Hoyt's final resting place. It can be seen throughout the county, and it is a constant reminder of the assurance we have that we WILL see Hoyt again!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

T-Shirt
Moto Tees, along with several GNCC family members, designed this T-shirt in memory of Hoyt. They were unveiled at the first race after Hoyt's death. Our family was quite humbled by the magnitude of such a gesture. (Unfortunately, these shirts are no longer for sale.)
ALWAYS in our hearts...
Hoyt...that "smirky" grin, your stubborness, your gigantic heart, the way you loved to meet new people, your unending generosity, your charisma, your sexiness, your loyalty to family, your penchant for green eyes, our favorite Marine, your obsession with teeth cleaning and whitening products, your mohawk, Abercrombie and Fitch, your passionate discussions about the Bible and God, your determination.....WE MISS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU, BUT WE CLING TO ALL THE MEMORIES IN OUR HEARTS!!
